BREAKING NEWS: Trump Fires FBI Agents Who Investigated Him in Major Bureau Shakeup

In a sweeping move that is being described as a "purge" within the FBI, former President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered the dismissal or reassignment of dozens of FBI agents and senior officials who worked on investigations against him, according to reports from CNN and NBC News.

Sources reveal that agents who played key roles in investigating the January 6th Capitol attack and the now-dismissed classified documents case are among those expected to be forced out as early as this Friday. Interim Justice Department leaders have been compiling lists of officials whose work has fallen out of favor with Trump, warning that they may be asked to resign or face termination.

According to an internal email obtained by CNN, Acting Attorney General James McHenry explicitly stated:
"Given your significant role in prosecuting the President, I do not believe that the leadership of the Department can trust you to assist in implementing the President’s agenda faithfully."

Reports indicate that at least six senior FBI officials were given a Monday deadline to retire early, resign, or face termination. Additionally, over 20 heads of FBI field offices, including those in Miami and Washington, D.C., are expected to be removed, signaling a major restructuring of the bureau’s leadership.

NBC’s Ken Dilanian described the scale of the dismissals as "bigger than first understood," noting that David Sundberg, the Assistant Director in charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office since 2022, was already informed of his termination.

This shake-up comes shortly after Trump’s classified documents case was dropped following his victory in the November election. Critics warn that this could be an effort to consolidate control over federal law enforcement, while Trump’s allies claim it is a necessary step to rid the agency of political bias.

Stay tuned for further developments.
