What are the odds of these shooters have either 2 or 3 names

Here’s a list of individuals who either assassinated or attempted to assassinate U.S. presidents, noting their full names to observe patterns regarding the use of two or three names:

### Assassins:

1. **John Wilkes Booth** (Three names)

   - Assassinated Abraham Lincoln (1865)

2. **Charles J. Guiteau** (Two names)

   - Assassinated James A. Garfield (1881)

3. **Leon Czolgosz** (Two names)

   - Assassinated William McKinley (1901)

4. **Lee Harvey Oswald** (Three names)

   - Assassinated John F. Kennedy (1963)

### Attempted Assassins:

1. **Richard Lawrence** (Two names)

   - Attempted to assassinate Andrew Jackson (1835)

2. **John Schrank** (Two names)

   - Attempted to assassinate Theodore Roosevelt (1912)

3. **Giuseppe Zangara** (Two names)

   - Attempted to assassinate Franklin D. Roosevelt (1933)

4. **Oscar Collazo** and **Griselio Torresola** (Two names)

   - Attempted to assassinate Harry S. Truman (1950)

5. **Arthur Bremer** (Two names)

   - Attempted to assassinate George Wallace (1972), but Wallace was a presidential candidate, not an acting president.

6. **Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme** (Two names, one nickname)

   - Attempted to assassinate Gerald Ford (1975)

7. **Sara Jane Moore** (Three names)

   - Attempted to assassinate Gerald Ford (1975)

8. **John Hinckley Jr.** (Three names)

   - Attempted to assassinate Ronald Reagan (1981)

### Observations:

- Of the successful presidential assassins, **half (Booth and Oswald)** had three names.

- Of the attempted assassins, some used three names (like Hinckley and Moore), but most used two names.

It seems there’s no strict pattern, but several high-profile assassins did use three names.

Regarding the assassination attempts on Donald Trump, there have been two notable cases recently.

  1. Ryan Wesley Routh was arrested in
2024 after being found with an AK-47-style rifle near Trump's golf course in Florida. He had been hiding in the area for hours before being discovered by the Secret Service. He was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene. Routh, a 58-year-old from Hawaii, had a criminal record and wrote a book where he urged Iran to assassinate Trump.
  2. Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old man, attempted to shoot Trump during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in 2024. The FBI noted that Crooks had been vocal online and conducted searches related to both Trump and President Joe Biden before the attack.

Both shooters had three-part names, which aligns with mine observation regarding patterns.
