The Dream of the Divine Weight

The Dream of the Divine Weight

A couple of nights ago I had a dream that left a deep impression on my heart. In it, I was standing on the earth, but my eyes were lifted to heaven, drawn by a divine radiance. There, amidst the light, I heard the voice of Jesus Christ resonate with overwhelming clarity.

“How long will you bear this burden?” He asked me. At that moment I felt an invisible weight on my head, something I could not see, but it weighed me down. Without hesitation, I answered, “Lord, I will bear this burden forever.”

Jesus asked me the same question twice more, with increasing intensity that seemed to penetrate my soul. “How long will you bear this burden?” With each repetition, my answer remained firm: “Lord, you know the answer long before I say it.”

I awoke with a sense of solemnity and reflection, as if that encounter in the dream was directly related to my current life. I have been fulfilling a personal promise for weeks to read 15 prayers daily, meditating on the passion of Jesus Christ. Although this promise is meant to last between one and two years, at times the weight of keeping it has tempted me to abandon it. However, every time that thought crosses my mind, a deep sadness comes over me, reminding me of the importance of continuing. That sadness transforms into strength and drives me forward.

The most beautiful thing is that I am not walking alone in this commitment. I have shared my promise with my family, and they, especially my children and my wife, give me unconditional support. They are my pillar and the strength that encourages me to continue, even when the load seems heavy.

Reflecting on the dream, I believe that Jesus' voice and his repetitive question were a call to reaffirm my commitment, not only to myself, but to my faith and my family. His light and presence in the dream not only reminded me of the burden I carry, but also that I am not alone on this path.

Although I sometimes feel exhausted, I have decided to make practical adjustments, such as performing prayers earlier in the day, in the sunlight, to avoid evening fatigue. This change allows me to renew my energy and focus, keeping the promise with integrity and faith.

This dream not only reaffirmed me in my commitment, but also filled me with gratitude for the support of those around me and for the opportunity to grow spiritually on this journey.
